At our synagogue, our connection to Israel is rooted in love, learning, and a deep sense of responsibility. We proudly weave Israel into every stage of synagogue life—from engaging nursery and religious school programs to clergy sermons, community trips, guest speakers, and special events that celebrate Israel’s history, culture, and significance. At the same time, we recognize that conversations about Israel can sometimes be complex and challenging. We are committed to creating thoughtful, respectful spaces where our community can explore difficult questions, deepen understanding, and engage with Israel’s realities with both pride and honesty. Through education, dialogue, and dedicated resources addressing Israel, current events, and antisemitism, we strive to help our members build meaningful, informed, and enduring connections to Israel.
As a participant in the Shalom Hartman Institute iEngage program, our community is committed to fostering thoughtful, values-based conversations about Israel. We have participated in two iEngage series — Jewish Values and the Israeli-Palestinian Conflict and The Crisis of Liberal Zionism — which encourage participants to engage with diverse perspectives while deepening their connection to Jewish identity, peoplehood, and Israel. Visit the Shalom Hartman Institute to learn more about this excellent series, and contact our clergy to be part of future classes and discussions.
