Kol Arts Students Recital with Masks

For The Kids Pre K - Grade 4

Beginning Violin and Viola Class
For Pre-K and Kindergarteners, 30 minutes
Limited Group Size (2 to 4 students)
Day/time arranged on request*
This music class will introduce your child to the joys of playing the violin or viola. Group activities, musical games and individual attention provide a nurturing environment for your child to learn. Parent or guardian should plan to attend with their child.

Beginning Violin and Viola Class
For Grades 1 – 4, 45 minutes
Limited Group Size (3 to 5 students)
Day/time arranged on request*
The beginning violin/viola class for elementary school children fosters more independence. Students will learn to play simple tunes in addition to note reading and ensemble skills. Parents or guardians are encouraged to attend, but it is not required.

Music Club
For Grades 1 – 4, 45 minutes
Limited Group Size (5 – 8 students)
Mondays @ 3:45pm – 4:15pm
Join your friends as this class explores music. A great introduction to the joy of sharing music with others. This class features a wide variety of activities including meet the instrument and composer of the week, make your own percussion instrument, note reading games and more.

For The Tweens & Teens

Junior Masterclass
Ages 9 – 12
Mondays@4:15pm – 5:00pm
Limited group size (5 – 8 students)
An Introduction to Masterclass, this class is open to all students. “Try out” your performance for your peers (even if it is “not quite ready”) and meet new friends. Get more comfortable expressing yourself, sharing comments and supporting each other in this informal atmosphere. A variety of activities encompass the many aspects of arts education.

Introduction to Chamber Music
Ages 9 -12, 45 minutes
Day/time arranged on request*
Learn to play music with your friends. These classes are custom designed to maximize each student’s musical development.

Teen Masterclass
Ages 13 -18
Tuesdays@8:00pm–9:00pm
Limited group size (5 – 8 students)
An ideal setting to practice performing “live”. Gain confidence while you hone your performance skills in this safe environment. Students benefit by learning how to support their friends, sightread music together, analyze music and more. Open to all instrumentalists.

Chamber Music
Ages 13 –18, 60 minutes
Day/time arranged on request*
Small ensembles (either pre-formed or newly formed) benefit from coaching by professional musicians. Explore the vast chamber music repertoire and sharpen your ensemble skills.

For Violists Only
Tuesdays @6:00pm – 7:00pm
Group Class specifically for the consummate viola student.

Join the tour examining Music, Art, Architecture and Ideas through the Ages. First Stop:
Antiquity….Ancient Egypt, Greece and Rome. Continue through the Middle Ages, Renaissance, Baroque, Classical and Romantic Periods. Final Stop: the Dawn of the 21st Century.
